The Government is providing additional funding to improve the provision of Physical Education and sport in Primary Schools. This money is allocated to Primary Schools to choose how they spend the money. The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on improving Physical Education and sport in schools.
Schools receive PE and Sport Premium Funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. The number of pupils at a school who attract the funding is determined using data from the January school census.
Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.
