Computing Curriculum

At Fynamore we believe that effective use of computing is a life skill that will be part of the learner’s future both at work and home.

We are extremely lucky to have very good computing facilities and a range of technology across our school including:

  • A wireless network supplying internet access across the school
  • Interactive whiteboards in every classroom
  • Three trolleys of laptops totalling 45
  • Additional laptops in classrooms
  • Two trolleys of iPads totalling 30
  • Additional iPads in both Reception classes
  • 12 static computers in our Key Stage corridors
  • Variety of digital cameras/recording devices
  • Selection of control hardware including Beebots, Probots and Lego Mindstorms
  • Variety of software that supports skills across the curriculum

Such technology enables our pupils to participate in an exciting, new Computing Curriculum, as well as allowing teachers to embed the use of technology as a learning tool across all subjects. We follow the Prospects Primary Curriculum which provides creative opportunities to motivate and inspire both pupils and teachers.

For tips and advice on safe internet use, please view our e-safety page, in the 'For Parents' section of this website and our Online Safety Policy.

The current Computing topics that the children are studying in school this term can be found within the topic webs.
