Uniform Code

Fynamore school uniform colours are purple and grey. All pupils are expected to wear uniform unless, for example, they are going on a residential visit.

It is essential that all items brought to school, including P.E. kits, are clearly named.

Main School Uniform:

  • Purple or white polo shirt with school logo
  • Purple pullover or cardigan with school logo
  • Grey or black trousers, shorts, skirt or tunic (schoolwear/smart)
  • Grey, black or white socks or tights
  • Optional purple and white checked dress in summer
  • Black school shoes (no trainers)
  • Children may wear boots during winter, as long as they are smart, plain, black boots      (no uggs, chains, coloured lacings, decorations or visible fur).

PE Kit (indoor): plain white T-shirt (no football shirts), black shorts and plimsolls (not designer trainers).

PE Kit (outdoor): as above, with dark, plain, sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms, for cold weather, and trainers (not designer trainers).

PE Swimming: (Year 3/4 only): one-piece swimsuit, swimming cap and a towel.

Jewellery: Children are allowed to wear a wristwatch, but they are responsible for its safekeeping. Watches must be removed for physical education. Children are not permitted to wear bracelets, other than a medical alert bracelet. Children may wear a maximum of one charity wristband. Earrings, other than small studs, are potentially dangerous, and must not be worn. If worn, stud earrings must be plain, small, and gold or silver (no coloured earrings). If worn, studs must covered with tape for physical education. Pupils are not permitted to wear other jewellery (including loom bands) in school. The school cannot take responsibility for the loss of any valuables brought into school.

Hairstyles/Hair Bands: While we are happy for children to express their individuality, we have very high standards and some hairstyles may be inappropriate for school. If you are in any doubt about a particular style, please check with school first.

Children should only wear small, plain, inconspicuous hair bands/ties. JoJo bows are not permitted. If you are in any doubt about a particular hair band, please check with school first.

Other: Nail varnish and transfers (temporary tattoos) are NOT acceptable at any time in school.

Uniform Suppliers

Items which have the school logo embroidered on to them can be bought through Scholars in Chippenham or online from Marks and Spencer.

Second-hand uniform: FoFSHOP

There are FoFSHOP second-hand uniform sales several times a term in school. These are advertised in the school newsletter, and are often on the last Friday of each month from 3.00 to 3.30 pm in the school hall. Donations of unwanted purple uniform are always welcomed, as long as they are of good quality. Please bring any donations in a bag to the school office. All proceeds go towards FoFSA fundraising.

Lost Property

Please name ALL your child’s belongings so that if they are lost they can be returned to your child. Lost (unnamed) property is placed in school office. Please speak to a member of the office staff if your child has lost an item.
